As a member of our team, you will develop expertise in helping clients improve the responsiveness, agility and cost-effectiveness of their IT organizations and drive overall business performance.

Position overview

Our consultants work closely with senior practitioners to provide our clients advisory and implementation services. They receive both formal and on-the-job training and ramp up quickly as integral members of the CIO Advisory Practice.

Examples of our work include:

  • Evaluating the costs and benefits of implementing an IT chargeback model for a Fortune 100 company
  • Assisting a leading CIO in creating a more agile and responsive IT operations capability by improving planning, operational steering and financial steering
  • Identifying potential skills gaps and training needs to create a roadmap for growing and transforming the talent pool of a nationally ranked hospital
  • Advising IT leaders at a consumer products company on selecting the best sourcing partner, how to design and negotiate successful contracts, and how to ensure an effective partner relationship
  • Partnering with the CIO and working through the change management process with the IT department to assist teams with all aspects of a transition
Candidate qualifications

Candidates should have a strong technical background with a solid knowledge and understanding of IT architecture, engineering and operations, ITIL, IT strategy, governance processes, IT organization design, business cases and financial management.

 

Specific qualifications include:

  • Superior academic results through an undergraduate degree; graduate degree or MBA a plus
  • Two to seven years of experience in strategy, planning and architecture in a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with large corporate IT operations, major IT programs, systems integration and technical architecture at enterprise and inter-enterprise levels
  • Functional knowledge in IT skills assessment, organizational change, process re-engineering, outsourcing, project management and financial services applications
  • Experience with and understanding of business requirements and the process of translating them into well-engineered and integrated technical solutions; attention to detail is essential
  • Experience with large IT transformation programs
  • Demonstrated ability to apply business case development and project justification techniques to varying information technology–related questions
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Personal commitment to quality and on-schedule delivery; proven ability to establish and meet milestones and deadlines
  • Customer-focused mentality to understand and appropriately respond to customers’ business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers and management to help develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in
  • Must be versatile, flexible and proactive when resolving technical issues and dealing with ambiguity
