Primary activities and responsibilities include:
- Leading project teams through the execution of work plans by providing direction, facilitating data gathering and analysis, and developing and presenting findings and recommendations
- Working independently, managing clients directly, developing and enhancing client relationships
- Coaching and developing practice staff
- Performing research and analysis, including interviews with clients to gather input, synthesizing the findings, and formulating an assessment
- Developing and delivering all aspects of presentations to communicate findings to clients
- Defining scenarios and proposing recommendations
- Formulating and formalizing proposed solutions as well as implementing them
- Communicating and coordinating those efforts within the client company’s environment
- Supporting business development by developing and presenting proposals
- Supporting practice-building activities such as development of service offerings, research, marketing and recruiting
Candidates should have a hands-on technical background with a solid knowledge and some experience with the following: IT architecture, engineering and operations, IT infrastructure, IT strategy and governance, IT controls, IT organization design, business cases and financial management. IT transformation experience is highly desired. Experience in Information Security is a plus.
Specific qualifications include:
- Superior academic results through an undergraduate degree; graduate degree or MBA a plus
- Six to Eight years of experience in strategy, planning or architecture in a large Fortune 100 company or major consulting firm helping to deliver engagements
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with large corporate IT operations, major IT programs, systems integration and technical architecture at enterprise and inter-enterprise levels
- Strong experience identifying and addressing client needs; building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement; communicating value propositions; managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials
- Strong experience as a team leader including supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation, and coaching staff, including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback
- Demonstrated experience with a large IT transformation program for a large enterprise
- Experience and understanding of business requirements and the process of translating them into well-engineered and integrated technical solutions; attention to detail is essential
- Demonstrated ability to apply business case development and project justification techniques to varying IT-related questions
- Experience with one or more architectural or IT frameworks (TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT) is desired
- Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Personal commitment to quality and on-schedule delivery; proven ability to establish and meet milestones and deadlines
- Customer-focused mentality to understand and appropriately respond to customers’ business needs
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers and management to help develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in
- Must be versatile, flexible and proactive when resolving technical issues and dealing with ambiguity
